The NBA Draft in some ways is the single most exciting day of the year. InsideHoops.com, with help from team and league sources including scouts and a few assistant general managers, provides the web’s most well-known NBA Mock Draft. We’ve been doing this since 1999.
Because the draft isn’t until June we aren’t factoring in which teams have their 2008 first round picks available. Our 2008 NBA Mock Draft just assumes that every single team has their selection and will use it as we’re told by top team sources expect. Starting now (February, 2008) we’ll be updating our Mock Draft every 2-3 weeks, and soon we’ll add player profiles. Check back regularly.
Michael Beasley, who we’ve had at #1 for a while now, isn’t an absolute lock to stay there, but he’s pretty probable. Derrick Rose could go #1, but isn’t a lock to go that high, but certainly is expected to go upper lottery. Brook Lopez, Jerryd Bayless, DeAndre Jordan, Eric Gordan and OJ Mayo are expected to go lottery. The rest of those guys aren’t locks to go lottery. Stay tuned. We’ll update as more info comes in.
The teams are listed in reverse order of the current overall league standings. The official draft order won’t exist until the season is over.

You said the official draft order will not be determined until after the season is over. This is not true — the non-playoff teams will be in a 13-team lottery, which takes place during the playoffs. The 14th pick on is determined by regular-season record. Therefore, as soon as the lottery takes place we will know the draft order (unless there are trades of picks — which can take place any time.) Just a minor correction. I like the site.
Another correction. Because so many trades have already taken place, simply reversing the current overall record standings does nothing. This is because so many of these picks have already been traded around. For example, the Suns own the rights to another team’s first round pick. (I think the Hawks or Nets. iIcant remmeber)
