31 Sneakers We Want To See In NBA 2k13
With the sneaker world being taken by storm with a slew of retros, new styles of shoes and new colorways of popular shoes, one has to wonder, “What would NBA 2K13 have in store for us this year?” Well, in NBA 2K11, after getting Michael Jordan on board to help develop the game, we were excited to be able to unlock some of our favorite Air Jordan’s, ranging from the Air Jordan I – 2010 versions, allowing 40 possible unlockable pairs. Now any basketball sneaker fan, especially of the Air Jordan Brand, couldn’t have been any more excited — I know I was. Unlocking a pair of Jordan’s in NBA 2K11 lead to a competition between friends and I to see who unlocked what while comparing our “in game collection.” Each Air Jordan was also unique because it provided added attribute points to certain skills for NBA players, which was a great tweak to the game. For example, a certain Air Jordan would increase a player’s low post offense or defense. It all depended on the shoe. The greatest attribute booster was the Air Jordan XI it increased a player’s dunking ability by 10 points.

In last year’s version of the heavily popular basketball video game series, NBA 2K introduced two new features, Footlocker and NIKE ID. Within the Footlocker feature , we were able to equip our favorite NBA Stars and “MY PLAYER” with shoes in the Footlocker store that were made available to us. What was also cool about this feature was that certain shoes like “LeBron IX’s“, “Kobe VII’s” or “KD IV’s” had a release date in the real world — the game itself would update the Footlocker feature and add that shoe (not all but some) into the game. Inside the NIKE ID feature, just like the being on the NIKE ID website itself, you were given the power to customize a default shoe model that had come preinstalled into the game. Now I don’t know about you guys, but that’s pretty dope, especially if you want to make sure your team is “stylish” on the court,  matching their kicks with their jersey. A few of the kicks in the Footlocker feature carried the same effect that the Air Jordan’s in NBA 2K11 carried, that boosting certain attributes when equipped onto a player. For example, “KD IV’s” increased a player’s mid-range shooting. Now imagine putting that shoe on –let’s say –Dirk Nowitzki. Being the killer mid-range shooter he already is, that boost in mid-range makes him almost impossible. Same goes with “LeBron IX’s“. This shoe increased a player’s dunking attribute, so equipping that shoe to a dunker…well, you get my drift. There were many other shoes in the Footlocker feature as well, inlcuding Reeboks, Adidas and many other players signature kicks.

Now, what we all have been waiting for and why we probably read this article to begin with…

…the list of sneakers we all could hope will be in this upcoming version of NBA 2K, 2K13:
