Detroit has created some more cap space by trading shooting guard Ben Gordon to the Charlotte Bobcats for Corey Maggette. Charlotte also received a protected first-round pick in the deal. The draft pick is fully lottery protected for next year, top-8 protected for Year 2, top-1 protected for Year 3 and unprotected in Year 4.
Detroit save roughly $15 million in cap dollars over the next two years, Maggette is on an expiring contract.
